Overview
IDA were procured by Doncaster based leading track rail specialist Hird Group to design a clean technology/innovation park on a greenfield site off Middle Bank Road, Lakeside, Doncaster. The development is to consist of circa 24,000 sqft of contemporary B2-B8 units, all are to be built speculatively with the exception of one of which has been specially designed to allow for the re-housing of the Hird Groups - Trough Tec System factory and associated offices. Each Block has associated defined private car parking courts with allowance fir electric vehicle charging and cycle storage along with integrated service yard areas. Provision has also been made within the proposal for the construction of an architecturally bespoke Hird Group Research and Development centre, which will include laboratory/testing and development space along with onsite restaurant space. Due to the nature of the site great car has been taken to balance (where viable) the biodiversity value of the site against the proposed development, this is further enhanced by the integration/retention of extensive existing land drain networks into the design. Civils works and Phase 1 (Block 1) are due to commence on site late 2023.
